Building Great Behavior
In the classroom, I use a behavior system based on Positive Reinforcement. It is designed to reward students for making positive choices throughout the day. This year my classroom theme is “Kids at Work” and I have used this to help design my behavior system. It works as follows:
All students start out the day in this zone.
At set intervals throughout the day (about every 2 hours) each child who has demonstrated good choices and shown that he/she is following classroom rules will get to move up to the next zone on the behavior chart.
There are three zones to move to:
At the beginning of the year, every child that has had at least 3 out of 5 days of the week in the "Super" zone will get treasure box. Gradually, the requirements for the end of the week treat will increase.
At the end of each day, a stamp or sticker will be placed in your child’s planner if he/she was in the "Super" zone. I will write a brief note in those planners that did not receive a stamp. If you do not see a stamp and/or a note in the planner, then it may be a day that either we were out of the room at the end of the day or I was not on campus that day.
