Homework Under Construction...
Homework is an important part of the kindergarten program. It reinforces the skills taught throughout the school day. Your child will take home a weekly homework packet. I will go over homework in class before your child leaves to go home. It should not take your child more than 20 minutes to complete the assignment. In addition to the homework in the packet, I ask that you read to your child at least 15 minutes a night. Listening to adults read, provides young children a model of good reading strategies and helps them be successful at reading themselves. Please understand that there may be times I send home extra homework for your child if I feel he/she could use some extra practice on something. Homework is to be turned in every Friday in the Homework Helper provided. I will not collect
individual homework assignments. Keep it all together in the homework helper until the entire packet has been completed. Turn it in once it has all been done. It does count towards a grade on the report card. I encourage you to make sure your child understand the homework assignment, but please allow him/her to do his/her own work. If your child is absent, he/she is still responsible for the homework assignment for that day. If you have any questions regarding homework please contact me.
